White vector objects export with black fill.

Recommended Posts

Good morning,

I've been having this problem periodically since I started using Affinity Designer 1 and it persists with AD2.  Sometimes vector objects that I draw print black.  See the black objects on the fin of the attached turtle picture.  I work on an ipad and export to pdf.  Going in and changing the fill or style does not seem to fix it - I typically need to recreate the objects in order to get rid of it. To my knowledge I am not doing anything differently when I create these objects, they just seem to pick up a black fill.  The fill isnt shown on my screen on the ipad and doesn't show up at all until I export the pdf.  I don't always notice it right away which means I need to re-export all the images.

This black fill doesn't appear when I export to png so I think it might be something about the vector objects.

I use symbols and layers a lot so maybe there is something about my process that is confusing the program?

Regardless, can you tell me how to fix this / and or why this might happen so that I can avoid it in the future?

~ Thank you! ~

Not something I've come across.

Are you able to share an Affinity file that shows the problem? Otherwise will be tricky to diagnose.

It seems the curve is exported as 3 filled areas, and the sequence is wrong (larger black par above smaller white part).
smells like a bug.

It seems if you reverse the curve on those objects it will be fine.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Ah, here it is.  Thank you for the quick fix solution.

It took me a minute to find, so for future seekers, an ipad screenshot below.

You need to have the object selected with the second selection arrow to get the option for reverse direction.
