Hi.

I've made a circular logo, which I wish to give a transparent background (Image attached). The only method I know to export with transparency is to export selection only. So, since I got elements not cut in a way to make a prefect circle, I thought I could make a ring object, select the ring and one item at a time, and then use a subtract boolean to cut it. Instead the line shorten, gets thinner and the tip is still round. (example of the orange line in attached image)

How would I solve this properly? Thanks in advance.

And feedback on the design itself would also be welcome.

Hi @Dompap,

You should be able to use a clipping mask for what you want to achieve...

  1. Duplicate your graduated blue background layer and give it no fill and no stroke and move it to the top of the layers panel
  2. Take your grouped logo elements and drag them over the layer text (rather than the layer icon) of the new duplicated circle layer to clip it inside the circle

Something like this...

Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7
Affinity Designer Beta 2.6.0.3027 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.6.0.3027 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.6.0.3027

MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse
HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse
