MacBook Pro M1 chip, cursor will not advance cursor in designer or photo. Designer, vertical row of numbers appears when I press the spacebar.

I think you may have accidentally turned on Full Keyboard Access in macOS System Settings. I don't know what that number popup is but the blue focus rectangle around it sure looks like Full Keyboard Access.

Go to Apple menu > System Settings > Accessibility > Motor > Keyboard and turn it off if it's on.

If it's not that, it's likely something similar to it so look for something you may have turned on in settings. You might have done this by accident by hitting some obscure keyboard shortcut.
