Sebastian the K
Hi guys, in Photo the batch conversion exports AFPHOTO files with transparency into flatend PNGs w/o transparent background. Please fix asap. Issue is existing since updating to 2.1.0. Win 10 22H2 19045.2965
Hangman
Hi @Sebastian the K, This appears to be working as expected on macOS... Could you upload one of your exported png files so we can take a look? Sebastian the K
Hi @Hangman, I can also confirm this issue working on MAC. Please find attached PNG file. Another thing: In the batch conversion dialog, I can not choose "transparent" in the colour picker... BR
Hangman
Hi @Sebastian the K, 11 minutes ago, Sebastian the K said: I can also confirm this issue working on MAC As in, it's working correctly for you on Mac or you are seeing the same problem? I'm assuming from your file that you are expecting to see the two white bars on the left and right of the angel image appear transparent when you batch export your .afphoto file, is that correct? Fist of the mighty Bob
I can confirm this problem since 2.1.0. (Windows) I reverted back to 2.0.4 and the problem is gone. Sigh.
Staff NathanC Posted May 24 Staff Share Posted May 24 Hey all, It looks like this is caused by changing any of the advanced export settings prior to the batch export to PNG, this causes the Matte to default to white which cannot then be changed back to transparent unless you use any of the default export presets which will correctly use the transparent matte. This is the same in the standard export dialog. It doesn't appear to affect MacOS even when changing the advanced settings. I'll be updating the logged issue with the developers to reflect this behaviour and will bump it with your reports. As an alternative workaround, after defining your PNG export settings within the advanced settings area, click on the matte and change the dropdown to 'Swatches' and then click on the transparent fill option shown in the screenshot below, visually the matte will still show as white, but when you export it should export with a transparent background.
