Compatibility between V1 and V2

Recommended Posts

I searched but couldn't find anything on this topic,

I have all three V1 apps and like the option to jump from one to another for few features (changing personas). But I am not sure that I would like to purchase all 3 again. If I for example upgrade only Publisher to V2 and leave Photo and Designer as V1 how compatible they are? will I be able to use this feature or not? Also can i open and edit V1 Versions in V2 and vice versa? (How compatible is it with itself)

Thanks in advance

StudioLink in Publisher, and File > Edit in ... all require compatible applications of the same version and major release number. E.g., all 1.9, or all 1.10, or all 2.0, or all 2.1.

You should be able to open all V1 documents in V2. However, you cannot open any V2 documents in V1.

The compatibility, as with StudioLink and Edit in ... is determined by the version and major release number, just as it was in V1. Thus:

  • V1: 1.9 could Open documents saved in 1.8, but 1.8 could not Open documents saved in 1.9.
1.10 cannot Open documents saved in V2.

  • V2: 2.1 can Open documents saved in any earlier version/release.
2.0 can Open documents saved in any earlier version/release.
2.0 can not Open documents saved in 2.1.
