PragmaticPulse Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Hi there, today I came (again) across a weird phenomena. I blacked out some parts of my current bank account statement. To prevent, that the recipient is able to remove the black bars by simply importing the document into a program like Affinity, I exported the PDF using these settings: The part "Inklusive Ebenen" means "Including Layers". Unfortunately, the exported PDF still includes all layers and hence the function seems not working. Is there anything I do wrong, or is this a bug? Version Number: 1.10.6.1665 Quote
Komatös Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Hi @PragmaticPulse Ich nehme mal an, dass Du Affinity Publisher meinst. GarryP Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Welcome to the forums @PragmaticPulse Is there are specific reason why you want PDF output, rather than something like JPG or PNG? Quote

Is there anything I do wrong, or is this a bug? This is due to a confusing nomenklatura. There are Layers and there are layers. If you look at the Layers panel you can add a Layer and move layers (elements I would call them) into it. When you use "Include layers" you just simply preserve the Layer structure (if there is), but unchecking does not mean you omit those layers. Perhaps you could turn the unwanted parts of your document invisible before export? PragmaticPulse 1 Quote ---------- Windows 10 / 11, Complete Suite Retail and Beta
PragmaticPulse Posted May 17, 2023 Author Posted May 17, 2023 Thanks for your quick replies! I am indeed using Affinity Photo. @joe_l Clicking the unwanted items invisible before exporting did the trick! These layers won't be included in the exported file anymore. Thanks again for the quick help, danke euch für die schnelle Hilfe! :-) joe_l 1 Quote
