Strange tab behavior with space character

Recommended Posts

For some "good" reason I have a text I imported that had trailing spaces and when I used tabs I discovered what might be a bug ?

If I hit a space after (for example) the word "four" it destroys my tab work.

Screen one leads to screen two and I think it should not :

Above, I just typed space after the word "four".

Here is the file :

Hi @laurent32,

The cause of the issue appears to be the 'Desired Word Spacing' paragraph justification setting. When this is set to a value lower than 100% (in the case of your file, 80%) with two right aligned tabstops it's possible for the position of the tabstop to be ignored after a space/character is entered, causing the tab and new character/space to overlap.

I don't believe this is expected behaviour, as such i've now logged it with the developers, many thanks for providing your sample file and screenshots. 🙂

Nice diagnostic @NathanC !!
