Michel Bosc Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Two points. First: Sometimes , just after opening Affinity, it shuts down. I precise ,i work with Windows 11. Second: Why at opening, the display' luminosity of a raw is not the same than its corresponding jpeg. It is darker and for correcting , I have to use "Exposition " (often by 2 to have the darkest limit of the histogram at naught Quote
Staff Chris B Posted May 16, 2023 Staff Posted May 16, 2023 Hey Michel Bosc, welcome to the forums. 1. I think we may need a crash report 2. What camera do you use? The raw file will naturally be darker than a JPEG - especially if you've taken this directly from your camera which may have done some adjustments. If you could attach some samples that would be great. Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
Staff Chris B Posted May 17, 2023 Staff Posted May 17, 2023 Thanks for the attachment. It does seem as though we are missing some kind of tone curve. Please note that there is no quality loss as a result of the raw opening up slightly darker - you can still perform any edits to the raw file. I'll push this forward to the developers to see if we can get it closer to the expected result on open. Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
Michel Bosc Posted May 17, 2023 Author Posted May 17, 2023 To work with a raw file, i play with "exposition" by reference to the histogram. The difficulty using this tool is to get a good (and fine) measure. Quote
Staff Chris B Posted May 17, 2023 Staff Posted May 17, 2023 I understand. If you do find the correct measure, you can try setting up a Preset which you can apply to any other CR3 files you open. Granted it may not apply to all of them depending on the scene etc. but may help speed up the process until we can find a potential improvement in the app. Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
