Hello!

On Affinity Photo, I've tried the different file formats about this, after I exported images to png, the transparent background all are showing grey color, which supposed to be clear.

I don't know what's going on because it used to be ok. Can anyone help? I uploaded an example of it.489798695_whygrey.thumb.png.1728f7174b243b3df0914f5f4b36be3b.png

Hi @STmxGrafik,

This is simply because you're viewing the files in Apple Preview which for some unkonwn reason displays transparency using a grey background...

If you open you exported png's back up in Affinity Photo you should see they have transparent backgrounds (make sure Transparent Background is ticked under the Document Menu in Photo).

thanks sooo much! 🙏

Can't believe it's the Preview setting that made me spent hours trying to figured out what happened with those images I worked on with Affinity Photo. 😅

After I checked the box on the Preview, I can see now the transparent background with checkerboard behind the images. I didn't have this problem until last IOS update, not sure what triggers that to change after.🤔 oh well...

Thank you for the tips everyone! Have a great weekend!

Hi STmxGrafik,

In File > Document setup, could you check to see if transparent background is checked (bottom of the dialogue).

I'm having same issue. Yes, I have transparent clicked. It is not just the preview, the PNG files view and open as transparent in Affinity, but not elsewhere, such as Canva. They look like the preview. The 2024 one, I just altered and exported. The MOM template, I created new, restarted, re-created new again, I am unable to get a white background (around the mom) it exports as gray. I haven't tried, but looks like the MOM letters are solid white and should be transparent??? I do custom orders like this all the time and these files are identical, I need help please.

Ok, I went back to the 2024 file, altered it to be the MOM, exported it, and it worked. So it's something in the new update that makes new file PNGs not transparent on export??? I'd sure like to know what it is???
