Juc1
Hi all, I am using this font - when I do Layer / Convert to Curves the letter M looks like four separate curves - but in the layer panel there is only one layer per letter, and so one curve / shape. How can I break up this compund / blob shape so that each of the four lines is its own separate curve / layer? argon.afdesign

Staff Dan C Posted May 11, 2023 Staff Share Posted May 11, 2023 Hi @Juc1, Thanks for your file provided, this is certainly helpful! With the object selected, navigate to Layer > Geometry > Separate Curves. You should now see the Curves object in the Layers Studio is separated into multiple Curve objects, which can be separately edited as required. I hope this helps Juc1

There is the Toolbar button in Designer 2. Select the M and hit it. firstdefence
You can also use Boolean Divide because using Separate curves on the O will result in three solid circles, using Boolean divide will honour the hoop status. Hey, that Divide works on the M as well. For future reference, in case it is still not obvious note that the "M" layer is a Curves layer, not a Curve layer. The plural form indicates it consists of more than one curve. Another way to see this is to count the number of red nodes in the workspace window when the layer is selected with the Node Tool, so like in your screenshot the 4 of them indicate it contains 4 curve objects.
