Ana Mendes Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 I want to export a graphic from DESIGNER to PUBLISHER. This file has many artboards, and I want seperate files. With transparent canvas. Preserving the size of the canvas. Tell me howd you do it as fast and automatic and directly as possible. (as in, Ive tried PNG and so on, but it has - idk why - a background, white, that I've never added to the file - where Illustrator would give the chance to see it gone - Idk where I'd find an option like that in Affinity. Please help) Quote
GarryP Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 You can tell Designer to give the Artboards a transparent background by going to Document Setup and checking “Transparent Background” in the Colour tab – see attached image. You can export multiple Artboards at the same time via the Export Persona. However, I’m wondering why you are doing this. Can you explain more about the process so we can see if there is a better way to do what you want to do? Ana Mendes 1 Quote
Ana Mendes Posted May 11, 2023 Author Posted May 11, 2023 Thaaanks! Other issue I've been having is that idk how to, with the pen tool, I can finish a line and start other, with one button/key/whatever. It'd be great to add these hints - as a user to other users - to the support manual: https://affinity.help/designer/en-US.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Tools/tools_pen.html?title=Pen Tool Quote

An unconventional way is to click on the Split Curves button in the Context Toolbar -- since only the last placed node is selected doing that deselects the curve, leaving the Pen Tool free to start a new curve. I like to be as agile as possible when drawing, hence why I rather give commands through the keyboard. But thanks! Quote

Yes, I'm vectorizing drawings, it's curves. Thanks for the hints, good to know. Again, it'd be really cool to be able to add to the manual. Thanks y'all Quote
GarryP Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 The link you gave is to the V1 application Help, so that’s unlikely to change. If you are using Designer V2, try looking at https://affinity.help/designer2/English.lproj/index.html for the Designer V2 Help (note the “2” at the end of the application name). The information about the Line Mode is in the Help in the “Draw curves and shapes” section (which is linked at the bottom of the page you gave a link to, and elsewhere), but I think it could be worded better. The same goes for the use of ESC to create separate curves but, again, it could be worded better. Quote
