Thomahawk Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Shadows, despite set to 100% black and multiplicate, are NOT. They should work exactly the same like overprinting, just overlaying the underlaying colors. Even worse in separation they show to LIGHTEN the underlaying color. This is extremely bad! See example files attached. test.afdesign test.pdf Quote

See example files attached. I don't believe this is the case..., i.e., the shadow set to 100% Black and Multiply is just that... Your shadow has 38% opacity... shadows.mp4 This is how it looks when the shadow is set to 100% opacity... shadows_100.mp4 and just to prove the point, I've changed the orange (M65, Y100) to Cyan (C100) and left the shadow at 38% opacity to make the maths easier. Multiply by it's very nature is a combination of the blend colour and the underlying layer which means that the two combined should always total 100% which they do for the complete length the shadow gradient... shadow_multiply.mp4 Quote Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 Affinity Designer Beta 2.6.0.2861 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.6.0.2861 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.6.0.2861 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse
Felledk Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I have this problem also - it's so frustrating. Because of this bug, my clients logo couldn't get a shadow effect on some white text on a 0,50,0,0 background. Quote
