Nigel S. Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 I am running the latest Version of Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher on an iMac Desktop & also on iPad, I had experienced issues with my Assets Library in Designer on the desktop version, but resolved this by resetting the User Data by holding the Control Button while restarting Designer, However I am now unable to close either Designer or Photo, both are displaying the 'waiting for content installation tasks to complete' message I have tried resetting the User Data by holding the Control Button while restarting both Apps, but unfortunately this hasn't fixed the issue. I have to now use the Force Close function to stop both Apps on the Desktop, Publisher appears unaffected at this time. All 3 Apps appear to be functioning normally on the iPad. Thanks in advance for any guidance, or suggestions. Quote
walt.farrell Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 How long have you waited? If you have a large number of items to load from Account, it can take a significant amount of time. You might open Account before you try to close the application, which will allow you to see what items are currently loading. Nigel S. Posted May 7, 2023 Author Posted May 7, 2023 Hi Walt, Thank you for the advise. The Photo App seems to have resolved itself. Designer has closed without issue a couple of times, but has just started displaying the 'waiting for content installation tasks to complete' message again. I'm not sure why it has only started this in the last week, up until then I had no issues until the assets Library disappeared, hopefully it's just the assets Library being recovered. I'll let it run overnight again and see if that helps, thanks again. walt.farrell 1 Quote
Perrorist Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 I can't minimise the screen when it happens, which is annoying. Quote
Millsy2 Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 (edited) @Perrorist if you are on Windoze, use the "display desktop" hotkeys (Windows key + D) to minimise all windows and then continue working on whatever...I just had the same problem after updating to 2.4.1 and killed the program via task manager, started Affinity Photo again, waited 5 minutes, opened a recent editing, closed said editing and exited the program. Started Affinity Photo and exited once the main screen was up no further problems. My guess is it's a compatibility check on AP assets after update. Hope the same works for you. Cheers!
