Hello Guys

Im fairly new to Affinity Photo but i had downloaded the program because i got into photography and photo editing for my clothing line that i have started up.

now attached you will see what my logo is."foreign waves international" and you can see the Jamaican flag within the font. the way i made the this was cutting out the font and positioning it over the flag to my liking. now this is something i want to be able to put onto t-shirts.

the other day i went to laser print it onto a shirt and what happened is that when the logo was blown up to cover full chest of the shirt it did not come out perfect. a lot of the lines were perfect but some parts of some letters in the logo had jagged edges that was quite noticeable

im looking to find a way to prevent that from happening, someone had mentioned something about "locking the image/pixels" or something like that, is that possible if so help please, or if yall have a better solution please do tell

thanks for your time hope to get a respond soon

What was the resolution you printed it to? If it was blown up more than its original size, then you either output the file the same size to be printed or use a vector program like AD, Affinity Designer, so you can outline the font - making it a curve in AD -.

Hi RastaMiike,

The best way to solve this would be to vectorise the logo using the Pen Tool. You will end up with clean lines and the ability to scale it to whatever size you need without losing quality.

Some letters (with rounded parts - notably the S) may give some work to get right but i still think it's worth the effort if you will be using the logo later for more promotional material.

If you download Affinity Review issue#1 (iBooks version) and check p.39 (Feature Focus | Pen Tool) there's a couple videos detailing how to use the Pen Tool. Start by tracing (vectorising) the letters - ignore the colours in the beginning, then you can draw the X and use boolean operations to divide the letters and get the shapes of the coloured parts.
