I tested on iPad (no access to my Mac right now), there i can‘t reproduce. It may help if you add you OS / Mac specifications. 

Mac mini M1 A2348 | Windows 10 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080

Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.

My posts focus on technical aspects and leave out most of social grease like „maybe“, „in my opinion“, „I might be wrong“ etc. just add copy/paste all these softeners from this signature to make reading more comfortable for you. Otherwise I’m a fine person which respects you and everyone and wants to be respected.

Hi @Noah 79585,

I've not been able to replicate this on a Ventura or Monterey Mac so far with your file, the preview and application of the selection growth is the same, as expected. I'll also try this on an M1 mac in case that is a factor.

Is this something you're able to consistently replicate with different files/active selections? Is there a specific way that the selection area needs to be created originally for this to trigger, other than just the pixel dimensions of the canvas?

Hi @NathanC, I ran into this issue several times before posting here and as far as I know the pixel dimensions were the only thing the files had in common. The selections varied in size, complexity and creation method (magnet and polygon). I usually had this issue with files larger than ~10000 px.
