BrendaC Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 For some reason, my version of publisher is constantly giving me preflight error that it doesn't have the right dictionary and can't recognize the spelling. I am not sure what dictionary it has, or even how to access the dictionary. I thought maybe it was because I am in Canada, but I have US English ticked off in all the boxes- hopefully someone can help me get rid of this annoying problem. I have attached a screenshot, it's easier than trying to explain it! Quote
walt.farrell Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 It wants the Canadian English dictionary. You'll need to install one, or change the text's Language setting. The first post in the FAQ will tell you where to install the dictionary files, and the second post will give you the first to download. You just need to create a directory with the proper name, in the proper location, and put the downloaded files in it, and Restart Publisher. Note: the FAQ works for either V1 or V2. Or you can set it initially in the Text Styles, or by changing the default for [No Style], but that generally applies only if you're actually typing the text. If you're importing it from some other source whatever language was set there will usually carry over. BrendaC Posted April 29, 2023 Author Posted April 29, 2023 Thank you both for your help. I went into preferences-miscellaneous- reset text styles & reset to the default- and the problem is solved! Not sure what I did to mess it up, but thanks for helping me troubleshoot! Hope you are having a great weekend! walt.farrell 1 Quote
