Font noto Urdu problem

I did download the font here: https://urdunigaar.com/download/noto-nastaliq-urdu-regular-ttf-file-download/.

but choosing the font result in an crash.

the info of the font:

I see no problems, no creative font, or do I see it wrong?

That says it is version 2.0.
The current version is v3.007.

BUT... Affinity applications do not support RTF text or Urdu/Arabic - so it will not do you much good for these applications.

After installing that font, the first time I tried to select it Publisher 2.1.0.1781 went non-responsive for 10-15 seconds, but then started responding again and I was able to use the font. Though as @kenmcd says, it may not be of much use in Affinity applications.

Could Affinity show a message that these fonts, when installing, are not usable in Affinity? This would make errorfinding earlier. Thanks @walt.farrell @kenmcd!

Thanks for making us aware of the crash, I've passed this along to the devs to investigate. Although as has been mentioned unfortunately we don't support RTL text.
