How make to copy a (red) channel and paste it into the level mask?

in the low-right corner of the window, click on channels (if the channels panel is not there, make it visible from menu->view->studio), rightclick on the red channel and select "copy to mask layer".

In the Channels panel right-click on the Red channel and select Create Spare Channel, then right click on the Spare Channel you just created and select Load To Levels Adjustment Alpha.

I tried, but I can not paste the channel to create the mask. Is there a tutorial or an example?

pmi, sorry if I'm not understanding.

 

The Red Channel for a (any) layer is listed separately than the composite Red Channel.

You can Right click on it and go straight to a mask layer.

 

I get the feeling though that something has gone over my head.... :huh:

you don't need to paste anything actually, just select the layer you want to mask with its own red channel and select the menu item like attached.
