This came up during a discussion on the thread on scripting, where I do think it is very relevant, but it was pointed out that this could be considered an independent feature, so I am opening this new thread to track this one independently.

It would be nice to (in effect) be able to re-open the brush editor, connected to objects already on the canvas, to allow brush parameters such as size variance, opacity variance and the like to be edited for strokes already applied to existing objects.

This could be done in a number of ways - the obvious two:

  • it could be a menu option (preferably a context menu) that simply opens the existing brush editor window, but connected to one or more selected objects which have brush strokes, so that the strokes of the objects are edited instead of a brush stored in the palette
  • it could be a new studio panel (which I believe would be the most desirable option from a user perspective, but probably more effort to roll out) which provides the same options, but for the selected objects instead of for a stored brush
