ansdesigns
Hi, I was wondering if I can delete parts of a photo with plain white background (not Transparent)? Many thanks, Fab
R C-R
You could add a white fill layer below the photo layer, or select the transparent area & use the flood fill (bucket) tool to fill it with white. ansdesigns 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
anon1
I think you want to delete it because it is currently white, right? Go to filter > erase white paper (the easiest way) or use blend ranges to eliminate the white https://vimeo.com/130959696 (more advanced way, gives you more control) (just drag down the right side of the curve instead of the left side) further explanations are for example here https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/17364-blend-if-blend-ranges/?p=79182 ansdesigns and barninga
JimmyJack
Or..... do you mean delete to white (or any color)? Like it can be done in Photoshop..... cmd+del = delete to foreground color, option+del = delete to background color. We don't have that functionality in AP. I sorely miss it. ansdesigns
anon1
Jimmy I think cmd + delete is "fill with foreground colour" or something like that You can set this up to be cmd + backspace in AP as well ansdesigns
JimmyJack
Hey MBd..... can you confirm that? I'm knockin' my head against the wall. AP and AD. (do you mean setting something up in custom shortcuts?) ansdesigns

JimmyJack
Ahhhh, okay thanks. That'll do. I like knocking my head against the wall because it feels so good when I stop :D . Ultimately, though, still an extra click or two..... seems to be the case a lot.
