That would be disruptive to the discussions and make the forums less useful to forum members looking for information in the future, so as a forum user I hope you don't do that. But you should be able to do it from https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/attachments/ by selecting the ones to delete. dmtp14 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Walt I know...and I thought about it...maybe it's not necessary at all as the files have been there for a longer time..and nothing bad happened...but I think I'd feel better with deleting at least some of them... You select items by clicking the checkbox on the right. Or by clicking the box at the top right if the list. Some other setting is in play then. On my Mac, there are no checkboxes to allow selecting an attachment. Clicking the thumbnail opens it at full size as an overlay in the same browser window; clicking the filename downloads a copy of the file; clicking the associated post title takes you to the post. I've tried Safari, Firefox and Edge - all the latest versions. Quote —— Gary —— Photo/Designer/Publisher: Affinity Store, v2.5.n release (and, since I have the space, the last v1 versions too). Staff Patrick Connor Posted April 19, 2023 Staff Posted April 19, 2023 Not all users here have that delete attachment option @walt.farrell. It is a promotion that forum users get with experience. It stops the disruption you mentioned. @dmtp14 & @GaryLearnTech please try again now. I've promoted you (early) to the long term/experienced group I have split this conversation off as I don't want the form security announcement to be distracted by a conversation about the permission to delete attachments. Hope that's ok. walt.farrell 1 Quote Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! carl123 Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 I would urge anyone reading this thread not to panic about deleting their posts/attachments which will only serve to disrupt users' experience in the future Remember, when you give in to fear, fear wins. debraspicher Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the hackers discover that at least 33% of the /attachments folder is user screenshots of their Preferences>Performance panel. And also that moderator's private data largely consists of cat pictures. walt.farrell, Patrick Connor and MikeTO 3 Quote

Jokes aside, it is perfectly fine and admirable even to want to take back control over your data. I don't think anyone meant to actually be belittling, can see the reason behind it and just offered a different but not unique perspective to all that read the forums. I will say even items we place Likes on can reveal a lot of information to those attempting to create a record on us (less so here on forum tbh). I don't see in this case it to always be fear response, though that is a very legitimate side effect of the world we currently live in, but more that people are becoming much more aware of how much they have put out there online. emmrecs01 1 Quote
