photoceram Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 I like very much your suite that I bought in substitution of my old Corel draw graphics X6 and I could not at this day explore all the possibilities because they are too numerous. I am principally an amateur user of Affinity photo nearly everyday but I own the 3 . The only request I make to day is the possibility of opening automatically a new document in A2 size. Maybe some other persons would like A1 or A0? Excuse my poor English. Congratulations and go ahead. Quote
Ron P. Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 You can create Presets for whatever size you want. The Affinity apps New Document size when first opening/launching are Sticky, they remember the last one used. So if you're wanting the A2 size, just create a preset, open a new document with that. Until you change the document size, it will open with it. FWIW, there's no Default document sizes in the apps, and I for one, am very happy there's not. How frustrating would that be for all those that do not want a specific size that's been made the default? 1 hour ago, photoceram said: Maybe some other persons would like A1 or A0? I don't work in those A sizes, so I would like none of them. I work in inches, and sizes that relate to photography. A2 does not exist as a standard format in the V2 Affinity applications. It's one of several that were removed, and I suspect that is really the OP's issue. If the problem was the unavailability of the preset for the A2 format, then the wording of the request would probably not sound like this "possibility of opening automatically a new document in A2 size". All you have to do is fill in the dimensions of the document for the A2 format (i.e. 420 x 594 mm) and they will always be automatically used for the new document. v_kyr Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 As Pšenda already said, the last time used document dimensions are already remembered (preserved), so the next time a new document is created it will be used as default. BTW one can also inspect the apps default settings file in order to verify this.
