Not that I’m aware of. There’s a current beta test (now at the Release Candidate stage) and nothing has been mentioned about any plans to add support for Indic Unicode fonts, so it looks as though you’ll have to continue to wait.

By the way, have you lost the login details for your original @tanmayswami forum account? It shouldn’t have been necessary for you to create a new @tanmay swami account in order to post here again.

Hey, this problem has been going on for 2 years, how much longer do we have to wait?

Version 2 of the Affinity suite was launched more than two years ago, in November 2022, but the problem already existed throughout the many years of the version 1 development cycle. Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo, and Affinity Publisher were released in 2014, 2015, and 2019, respectively.

If only the lack of font support in such good software were eliminated, our work would become much easier.
Please solve this small problem quickly.
This solution is very important for us.

You should not expose your email address in the forums, @tanmay swami. In addition to being a form of security exposure (since it's part of your login details) it can lead to getting additional spam.

I would be very grateful if you could make Unicode Gujarati font support available because I have been waiting for this support for 2 years and this problem has proven to be very detrimental to me.

As a user, I cannot resolve it, and I have no idea when Serif will resolve it. Sorry.

It is a long-standing issue (since at least release 1.4 of the applications) logged currently as AF-3329 and is apparently very difficult to fix. My honest recommendation would be to find some different software for your project using this font/script.

We have this software set up and we do all our production work in this software. All our files are created in this software. So now why do you think we should change the software?

Walt explained why in the sentence immediately before the one where he made his recommendation:

If you’ve been waiting for a fix, you’ve already been waiting for a long time. If you want to continue waiting, you will probably still have a very long wait.

This software seems to be very affordable in India and our company will also market it if this small problem can be solved.

If the problem were truly a small one it would have been solved years ago.

It is the user’s (company’s) responsibility to make sure that the software they choose to purchase multiple licences for is capable of doing what they need to do with it.

I understand that a user (company) cannot possibly check everything but important things, especially known vital things, need to be checked before purchasing.

It has been known since (pretty much) when the Affinity applications were first released that they do not properly support Indic fonts, ‘non-Western’ writing systems, and other related things, and a quick search in the forums would have easily shown that.

I’m not sure what you mean by that but I don’t think Serif would be okay with another company ‘marketing’ their software without some kind of official agreement.

There’s no ‘pretty much’ about it, Garry! Serif’s previous (Windows only) software products didn’t properly support Unicode Indic fonts; Serif’s old ‘flagship’ product, PagePlus, was in continuous development for over thirty years.
