Does anyone have the problem of the live luminosity range mask often freezing when trying to use i've tried manually rasterizing layer as i thought that was the problem but it just keeps happening randomly and it's getting a bit annoying. I love the program but it means i have to close the program and start again . Can anyone help?

Welcome to the forums :)

So far I'm not able to replicate this.

  • What OS & Version are you using?
  • Which App & Version?
  • Is the image located on a local, external, network or Cloud?
  • Have you applied any other adjustments, FX to the image?
  • Is this happening to any image or just a specific one?
    • If a specific image, could you attach the afphoto file to your post?

The freezing occurs randomly, with or without other progs running. Windows 11, version 2.0.4.1701, images are stored on C drive or external HDD, some time freezes after other adjustments and sometimes as a first operation, no specific images.

Its been OK for me lately, but I've been using the beta. Do you have hardware acceleration on? Edit->Settings->Performance. If so maybe try with it off.  If you have a Nvidia GPU try a clean reinstall of the graphics driver. How much RAM do you have?

Other option is to reset user data. Hold control when you start up Photo gives you a menu to do that.
