Besides some minor issues (like go to page XY that doesn’t work) I noticed other more important strange behaviour:

1. Fonts are not embedded in PDF
I made the layout for our annual report. I generated a print PDF with the option «all fonts embedded» that wasn’t accepted by the print shop, because they told me the fonts were not included (the font is « Helvetica Neue LT Std»). Finally I had to export the layout to PDF with the text in curves, that worked.

2. Grey overlays on pictures
At the moment I layout a book for my friend who is a painter. The layout is very simple, it consists of little text and about 150 photos of his paintings. But when I exported it to a PDF there were grey rectangles on the right page over some the pics. I couldn’t find out why, in the Publishers document I couldn’t find anything wrong (see the two printscreens). As I felt very insecure about this – the book has to be printed correctly for his annual exposition in June –  I decided to restart the layout in InDesign. It took me some time to export all the pics that I had corrected in Photo. Last year I produced also a book which was a little more complicated for his annual exposition in Publisher 1. This worked without any problem.

Hi @Wali,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

In regards to embedding fonts in PDF files, protected fonts can't be embedded and this is controlled by the font license and not the Affinity app. If you are able to embed other fonts and not this one, it likely indicates the font is protected and therefore this is not supported.

I hope this clears things up!
