So, I have created a bunch of rectangles criss crossing and I group them into 1 graphic, and i want to mask that to look like the rectangles makeup the shape of the letter "S".  I can do that easily enough by creating the line design with the rectangle tool. Group the lines into 1 group called CrissCross-GRAPHIC.  Convert it to Curves.
