The program crashes randomly in the following cases:

1) I open the program by double-clicking the .afpub file.

2) I use "Open recent".

3) I use "Open".

...always the same result: the program opens, the pages appear and after a while the program crashes on the desktop.

If I just open the program, it doesn't crash.

If I rename the file after it crashes and open it again, Publisher doesn't crash - usually.

Same problem in Beta version...

EDIT: The cause of the error was found. the document is somehow faulty (I don't know how). So I need to make a new template for the magazine.

- Win 11
- Adobe Font Manager (CC)

Hi @Gasp and welcome to the forums,

I can open your Publisher file without any issues but that's likely because all the images are linked rather than embedded.

The first thing to try is to rename the PDF file on Page 8, 20230622_144239.pdf to 20230622_144239 (old).pdf and then see if Publisher still crashes when opening the file.

The second thing to try is to download all the Linked files to your internal Hard Drive, relink them and then see if the file opens without crashing. You will likely have to rename or Move the folder on your One Drive first to break the current link to the files but the crash could be a direct result of your files being located on One Drive.

If neither of those works, could you save your Publisher file as a Package File > Save as Package and then zip the resulting file and folders up into a single zip file and re-upload? It will probably be one of the linked files causing the crash but we will need access to the linked files to be able to determine which file or files are causing the issue.

Thank you for your quick answer !

When I click export directly after opening the file, sometimes it dosen't crash and so I was able to save as package.

Then I opened the .afpackage file and saved it as a .afpub file that seems to work fine for the moment.

Does it make sense to you?

When you open the .afpub file saved after opening the .afpackage file where are the linked files located, on your internal hard drive or still on One Drive? You can check my selecting one of the linked files in the Resource Manager and looking at the file path at the bottom of the window.

If the former it possibly suggests that One Drive is the issue, if the latter then I'm unsure at this stage...
