All 3 apps have issues with the dictionary.

In version 1730 of Publisher, I opened a text and enabled spell check.
Publisher was instructed to learn the red underlined words.

All apps (version 1730) retained the learned words.
(No red underlined words)

In version 1736 and 1742, the previously learned words are again underlined in red, in both version 1736 and version 17412.

Cheers

Logged already as AFB-7538 from this earlier report:

But shown there as fixed in .1736. And I cannot recreate the problem using .1742.

Hi Walt,

For me, the problem of learned words is not solved.
With each new beta version, the previously learned words are displayed as errors again.

This means that the words have to be re-learned in each new beta version.

Hi @Gnobelix

I cannot replicate this behaviour. How are you updating the apps? Are you using the MSIX or EXE version of the app?

Hello EmT,
I am using the EXE app.
Within a version no. the learned words get are retained.
In version 1730, the words had to be re-learned, as in version 1736 and in version 1742.

Have you previously installed an additional dictionary? Could you check in Text > Character > Language > Spelling, which dictionary is being used please.

Hello EMT,

no, I have not installed an additional dictionary.

Oddly enough, the beta version uses the same Folder for the dictionary as the retail version.

The Folder is C:\ProgramData\Affinity\Common\2.0\Dictionaries

Cheers

We've still not been able to replicate this here, can you try reinstalling the previous version, then send a screen recording and try to learn new spellings in app, then update see if they are retained.

Hello EMT,

I updated the apps on my laptop to version 1742.
There, I did not have the problem described above.
What I noticed, in the settings, the Folder for the Dictionary
is specified as follows, C:\Program Data\Affinity\Common\2.0 (Beta)Dictionary.
This Folder is empty, no Files in the Folder.

I wonder in which folder the dictionary is stored.

Cheers

That is the folder where you would install additional language dictionaries if you need them.

Words that you tell Publisher to Learn are stored (on Windows) in the dictionary.propcol file in the Common folder for your username. E.g., with MSIX look at %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Common\2.0 (Beta)\user\dictionary.propcol but for EXE/MSI it would be %AppData%\Affinity\Common\2.0 (Beta)\user\dictionary.propcol
