Hi,

I'm trying to create a new file in "web" preset but it keeps switching to print by default no mater what I do. I tried other presets as well and run into the same issue. I also tried several new documents, restarting, and uninstalling. When I check for updates, I get "Affinity Designer 1.10.6 is currently the newest version available."

Is this a bug? Any other way that I can switch to web? Thank you

I'm using Macbook Pro (latest version of iOS)

As far as I know, what it says for Preset in the Document Setup dialog is meaningless. What matters is the document size, DPI, etc. So I think you're worrying unnecessarily.

Having said that: yes, it's probably a bug that it doesn't retain that information, and I think I've seen that reported before. But as it's largely meaningless information it's probably low priority for a fix. And it is extremely unlikely to ever be fixed in V1.

By the way, as you're using V1, the proper location for a bug report would be Designer V1 Bugs Found on macOS, rather than the V2 bugs part of the forums. A Moderator will probably move this topic for you.

Hi @barah,

Thanks for your report!

If you are changing any of the Preset document settings, such as the size, then the 'Type' under Document Setup will revert to 'Print' and this is expected behaviour.
As Walt mentions above this has no bearing over the file itself and does not change any of it's properties, it's simply a label the Affinity apps use to categorise different document presets.

However - I am able to replicate in both 1.10.6 and 2.0.4 on macOS that the selected Type/Preset is not retained in Document Setup after creating a document when you do not change the preset values, unlike on Windows where this is retained. Therefore I will be logging this as a bug with our development team now.

I hope this helps :)
