Craig Bailey Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Designer 2 cannot start for me on my iMac unless I have my Macbook Pro's hard-drive mounted. It sits and spins, and I have to force quit it. Quote
Staff NathanC Posted April 5, 2023 Staff Posted April 5, 2023 Hi @Craig Bailey, Could you confirm the location that Designer 2 is installed to on your Mac, is it installed on your local drive and launched from the 'Applications' folder or is it installed onto your external drive? If it is installed and being launched from your local drive, could you confirm if the issue you're encountering prior to the freeze is similar to what has been described in the FAQ post below? I would suggest trying the workaround described in this thread to delete the MRU.dat file whilst your external drive is disconnected and then try launching the apps again. Quote
Craig Bailey Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 Thanks for your reply. Yes, the app is installed on my local drive, and the issue seemed to match your example. Deleting the mru.dat files seems to have fixed it. Quote
Staff NathanC Posted April 5, 2023 Staff Posted April 5, 2023 Thanks for confirming, from what i'm aware there has been some improvements related to this issue within the 2.1 beta app, so it may be worth trying the beta app to see if this can be used without having to resort to deleting the MRU.dat each time you try and launch the app with your external drive disconnected. I've provided a signup link for the beta below. https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/affinity-beta-program/ Quote
