Objects are cut of when exporting to PDF an using HSL adjustment layer

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm using MacOS Monterey (12.6) and have an issue when exporting to PDF. The object (the egg) is cut of when I've added a HSL adjustment layer. The egg also has some perspective adjustments using Warp Group > Perspective. Works when exporting to PNG, but not when exporting to PDF. The error is reproduced every time. See screenshots below as well.

  1. Are you using the latest release version? Yes, Affinity Designer v2.0.4
  2. Can you reproduce it? Yes, see attached files. To reproduce:
    1. Take the file "egg-working.afdesign" and export it to a PDF (Print). It will look identical to what's in Designer.
    2. Not to see the error, add a HSL adjustment layer to the warp group (the egg) and do some adjustment to change the color of the egg.
    3. Export to PDF and the Egg will be cut off.

      I've also attached a file "egg-not-working.afdesign" that shows the layers with the HSL layer added. If you open that file and export it to PDF (Print), it will also cut the egg off.
  3. Does it happen for a new document? If not can you upload a document that shows the problem? Yes on new documents. Files are attached - one working and one not working.

Hope this information helps reproducing and troubleshooting.

@MrSweden

Nesting the HSL adjustment layer into the curve layer should work and help.

Thank you for your suggestion, but the result is still not good and to me this is some kind of bug. Any other suggestions?

I added a HSL, made changes and nested it like in your suggestion, but now I get a completely other shape (!), but the egg is not cut off. These is how the layers are ordered:

Left side is in Affinity Designer, right side the PDF (not really an egg anymore...).
