maxegb Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 hello, everyone! i have been using afphoto on my desktop mac for a couple of years, now, and i have some preferences set to my taste (mousewheel to zoom for example.)i now bought a laptop and i would like to set it in the same way...i don't even remember what i did change, though. i could comb the preference menus and change the differences, but i was wondering if there is a faster way by transferring some preference file . Any idea? thanks Quote

Dan C Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Hi @maxegb, Can you please confirm for me: Are you using Affinity V1 or V2 currently, and are you copying these settings to V1 or V2? Did you purchase the Affinity app from the Affinity Store or the Mac App Store? (this will change the files locations) What version of macOS is in use on your desktop? Many thanks in advance! Quote
maxegb Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 hi @DanC i am using V2, purchased from the affinity store, i run ventura on both machines. Quote
Dan C Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Thanks for confirming that! Please open Finder and navigate to the following location: ~/Library/Group Containers/6LVTQB9699.com.seriflabs/v2/user/ Here you should find multiple .propcol files which you can copy from one mac and paste them in the same location on the second. In regards to the apps preferences, these are found in separate folders below: ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Photo 2/ ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Designer 2/ ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher 2/ In each fold you can find preferences.dat which can be copied to the same locations on your new mac. I hope this helps Quote
maxegb Posted April 6, 2023 Author Posted April 6, 2023 @DanC thank you!! Edit: i just navigated there and there is a file called adjustments which is 571 Mb . the others are very small instead. this piqued my curiosity:what's inside that file to make it so big? Quote

If you mean the adjustments.propcol file, it is where the various adjustment presets in the Adjustments Studio Panel are stored. As I understand it, this file is larger than other .propcol files as it will store your imported LUT files, as well as the info used to generate thumbnails shown in the Adjustments Studio for your presets etc. Quote

Dan C Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 Absolutely, copying this .propcol file to your new mac should import any previously saved LUTs and these should then be available in the Adjustments Studio Quote
