Christin H Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 I'm new to Affinity. I have V2 for the iPad. I mainly work in Procreate drawing motifs for my patterns. I want to ask if Procreate files can be exported to Affinity or is it best to export to Adobe Capture to vectorize before exporting to Affinity? I also want to ask when I export assets, does each piece need to be created separately in layers in order for the assets to have layers in Affinity or is it possible to export a single file and Affinity will automatically separate each piece in layers? Thanks Quote

I would recommend exporting from Procreate to .PDF, for importing into Affinity. Provided that Procreate writes the PDF files with layers, these should be retained when opening in Affinity iPad. 22 hours ago, Christin H said: I also want to ask when I export assets, does each piece need to be created separately in layers in order for the assets to have layers in Affinity or is it possible to export a single file and Affinity will automatically separate each piece in layers? Are you referring to Procreate assets, or Affinity assets? As above if you are able to export these from Procreate to PDF then the Affinity app should separate the layers (again depending on how the PDF file is written), though unfortunately I don't have much experience with Procreate so I'm not 100% certain of your options here. I hope this helps! Quote
