I guess due to the width of the Layers panel. That seems to be a known bug. Works fine here with the betas 1736 on Mac OS 11.7 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4 Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear. paolo.limoncelli
This happens also for lock and visibility. It is a redrawing issue I guess... Undocking and resizing the panel should temporary fix. jmwellborn 1 Quote The white dog, making tools for artists, illustrators and doodlers
Staff Sean P Posted March 31, 2023 Staff Share Posted March 31, 2023 Hi jmwellborn, This is a direct result of the issue Old Bruce has mentioned above whereby the items at the end of each layer go missing when the Layers Panel is too wide. A simple rescale of the Layers Panel width to be smaller will bring them back.
diarbyrag
hopefully this layers panel bug is being addressed in 2.1 asap as it is a PITA 🙂

A simple rescale of the Layers Panel width to be smaller will bring them back. It is quite erratic. If I drag the layers panel back to the smaller width and then out again, the brush icons show. And having done that once, I can then open a new document with my Preset already at a wider panel width, and the icons do show. Both Designer and Photo. Definitely a bug. paolo.limoncelli 1 Quote 24" iMAC Apple M1 chip, 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16 GB unified memory, 1 TB SSD storage, Ventura 13.6. Photo, Publisher, Designer 1.10.5, and 2.3.
