joe_l Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Yes, this is a weird one. 😂 The word notes is not German, but it seems to be part of the inbuilt German dictionary, because I am not able to unlearn / ignore this word (no option to do so). The Affinities use the Hunspell dictionaries, is this correct? So why is LibreOffice marking notes in German text as wrong and APu not? Just curious and maybe I missed something obvious here. paolo.limoncelli Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 I guess it is due to the inclusion of application names and other "untranslatable" nouns aside regular dictionaries, maybe? Notes is an APP on macOS so this could be the case. This happens in Italian too where I find "word" (which does not exists) because of the MS application.       MikeTO 1 Quote DAUB® Brushes making tools for artists, illustrators and doodlers
MikeTO Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 This is exactly what is happening, Apple doesn't flag the names of their apps as spelling mistakes. They also don't flag names for Microsoft, Google, Facebook, etc. Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
