I updated all 3 applications to 2.1.0.1736 today, using the MSIX versions on Windows 10.

Publisher claimed the Store content was not installed, so I told it to install everything, and watched everything downloading/installing. When it was finished, Photo and Designer still claimed none of the Store content was present.

At one point while Publisher was doing its work, I could see in Photo and Designer that Store content was being downloaded, but once Publisher was finished, both were back to saying nothing was installed.

Stopping and restarting Photo and Designer did not help.

After I stopped and restarted Publisher, it showed nothing installed, too.

Note: There have been a few times when running various of the 2.0.4 applications on Win 11 that they have surprised me when I tried to stop them by saying that they were delaying to finish content installation. And I think I've seen that with earlier 2.1 beta builds too. So I'm not sure what's going on. This is the first time I've caught it where I know the exact sequence of events.

Hi @walt.farrell,

I'm seeing similar behaviour here and am currently trying to work out a predictable and reproduceable recipe as I seem to be getting slightly different results each time. With that in mind, when following the steps you used, did you see the same thing each time or were you also finding the results to be inconsistent?

Thanks a lot

@DanG: It seems inconsistent.

Currently using 2.1.0.1736 MSIX on Win 10, I did the following:

  1. Started Publisher, Designer, and Photo.
  2. In all three, no Store Content showed as installed in Account.
  3. In Publisher, installed 20 Fog Overlays by Paper Farm (first item in my list).
  4. After it completed, looked at Designer and Photo. Neither showed that pack as installed.
  5. Closed Publisher.
  6. Designer and Photo now show that pack installed, along with the 4th item on the list (60 Snow Overlays), and a bunch of items later later in the list (but not all items), including some that show as partly installed.
  7. Restarted Publisher: it shows nothing installed.

When .1742/3 become available I'll install them and see if it behaves any differently.

Definitely inconsistent, @DanG. Results from using 2.1.0.1742 (EXE/MSI version) on Windows 11:

  1. After install, Publisher showed Store content installled. Designer and Photo didn't.
  2. Stopped all 3 applications. Started Publisher holding Ctrl key, and Reset Account Data.
  3. Signed in to account using Publisher, and installed all content.
  4. After it was installed, and for at least an hour after, the Account window had a warning about "content may be temporarily out of synch."
  5. Restarted Publisher. Everything still there. Warning no longer present.
  6. Started Designer and Photo. Designer showed some items not installed. Photo showed nothing installed.
  7. Stopped all 3 applications. Restarted them all, and all 3 then showed all the content installed.
  8. All the above was yesterday.
  9. Today: I had left Publisher running. It still showed all the content installed.
  10. I stopped Publisher, and started all three applications (Photo first, then Designer, then Publisher).
  11. Photo and Designer show all content installed. Publisher shows no content installed.
  12. Stopped and restarted Publisher. Still shows no content installed.

Switching to my Win 10 machine, also with 2.1.0.1742 (MSIX version).

Yesterday, some inconsistencies. Did the Reset Account Data, ran Publisher, and let it install everything. When it was done, ran Designer and Photo. Designer showed everything installed. Photo showed nothing installed.

Today: Stopped all 3 apps. Started all three (Designer, Photo, Publisher). Apparently Designer crashed during startup (no crash report; this machine never generates crash reports for Affinity apps, V1 or V2). Publisher and Photo showed all content installed.

Restarted Designer: it showed no content installed.

Stopped all 3 apps.

Started Designer: It shows all content installed.
Started Photo: No content installed.
Started Publisher: No content installed.

  3. Started Publisher: now shows all content installed.
  4. Started Designer: no  content installed.
  5. Started Photo: no content instaled.

Here the same behaviour as Walt has described.
Only the app launched first shows content installed.

Start Publisher:  shows content installed.
After that, start Photo: No installed content is shown.
Then start Designer: No installed content is shown.
Close all apps.
Start Photo:  shows content installed.
After that, start Publisher: No installed content is shown.
Then start Designer: No installed content is shown.
Close all apps.
Start Designer:  shows content installed.

ctc. etc.

Cheers

Thanks for your help. I have not managed to condense it down to a repeatable recipe, which I've just reported to the development team.

Essentially, the first app you launch will work correctly, however subsequent apps (whilst open at the same time) won't reflect the current state correctly.

The issue "Content Sync UI on secondary IPC instances is non-reflective" (REF: HUB-292) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1769".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
