Possible bug in Affinity Designer symbols

I use symbols to build repeat patterns in Designer. Something odd is happening with one of the layers, I've moved it to the top on the original symbol but it still hides behind another layer on the tiled repeat. Even stranger, it only happens occasionally, on 3 out of 9 copies of the symbol.  Everything looks right in the layer panel, so I'm at a loss to explain it!

It's too big? So try to delete all unimportant/non-problematic areas from it.

Symbols overlap each other - so their content is hidden.

Try move first/top Symbol,

or move it to the bottom in layers stack.

Overlapping two images is generally not a good solution and can only be a source of problems. Therefore, rather than "adding" another butterfly that will overlap with another part of the symbol, I would recommend deleting the leaf on the other side of the symbol that overlaps it.

Thank you! It was driving me a little bit mad. The tiled side is purely to preview the repeat and check for errors, so it's not important, just irritating.

Believe whatever you want but I do not see any way to delete more than one symbol entry at a time.
