When copying the French word énergie (with e-acute) from Publisher to another application, it will be pasted with a space between the é and the n.
Surprisingly, this only happens with this word.

Example of copy-paste:
é nergie, éboueur, écouter, éduquer, éfrayer, égayer, éhonté, éjecter, électricité, émasculer, énumérer, épater, équilibre, éradiquer, étriquer, éviter, énoncer

The same with capital É:
É nergie, Éboueur, Écouter, Éduquer, Éfrayer, Égayer, Éhonté, Éjecter, Électricité, Émasculer, Énumérer, Épater, Équilibre, Éradiquer, Étriquer, Éviter, Énoncer

Welche Schrift verwendest du?
Wie hast du die Zeichen erfasst? (Sind es zusammengesetzte Buchstaben?)
Kannst du die Beispiele als Publisher Dokument hochladen?

What font do you use?
How
did you capture the characters?
(Are they composite letters?)
Can
you upload the examples as a publisher document?

Quelle police de caractères utilises-tu ?
Comment
as-tu saisi les caractères ?
(Est-ce que ce sont des lettres composées ?)
Peux
-tu télécharger les exemples en tant que document Publisher ?

Hi @Michel7,

Thanks for your report :)

Along with the above, can you please confirm the app you are pasting this word to?

As I have tested this by pasting énergie from this thread into Publisher, as well as manually writing the word using the Glyph Browser and when copy and pasting this word into both Notepad and Notepad ++, no space is added in my testing -

Many thanks in advance!

I see the problem when pasting to Word (Windows)

If I copy and paste from here to LibreOffice it doesn't happen. But if I paste it into APub first, then copy and paste it to LibreOffice, it does!

I've just been "playing with" this. It actually seems to happen with other words as well (as listed in the OP), but only when they are the first word, (beginning with é),  in a paragraph! If énergie isn't the first word, there is no space!

Thanks Paul, I can confirm I see the same issue when changing the above listed words order, as it only appears to affect the first word in the list - however I've also noted that this issue appears fixed in 2.1.0.1732.

Can you please (if you are using the beta) confirm if you see the same behaviour? :)

Working further between Affinity Publisher and PowerPoint I've gotten the issue in various cases, e. g. "é lectricity" within sentences. Thus it's difficult to identify a pattern.

Some dark cloud follows e-acute but not è or other accented characters.

In Publisher (versión 2.0) I use the proprietary font Frutiger.

Sorry, I'm not using the beta!

No problem at all PaulEC, thanks for letting me know :)

@Michel7, can you please sign up for the beta version using the below link and let me know if this issue is resolved for you there? This can be installed as a separate app and should not affect your 2.0.4 app -

Another member of the team internally has confirmed that this also appears fixed for them in the latest beta version, but I'd like to be certain before closing the development report!

Well, I installed the Beta version 2.1.0.1732 and, using the same file as before, the bug had disapperaed.

Should I continue working with this version until the regular update will take place?

Thanks for your prompt assistance,

Michel

Thanks for verifying that for me, I'm glad to hear this!

You're certainly welcome to use either the retail or the beta version, though the beta version does have multiple new features and bug fixes so I would recommend using 2.1 if you feel comfortable.

Please note any documents created or saved in 2.1 cannot be opened in 2.0.4 so please use a copy of any of your retail files if you wish to return these to the retail build before 2.1 is released from beta.

I hope this clears things up :)

Absolutely, files created in the 2.1 beta will be compatible with 2.1 retail once the update is released, simply not with 2.0.4 before the update is released :)
