opacity/hardness broke

I am on the latest version of Affinity photo –

With the opacity, flow, and hardness all the way cranked up – I am still making brush strokes as if it’s not all 100%.

This is for ALL documents and I even uninstalled and reinstalled my program and still have this problem. Restarting my computer didn’t fix it.

I run this on a windows 10, I don’t know how I set it off. I was using a tablet at the time, but this is happening even without the tablet. I can’t get it to stop.

I don’t usually have any fancy effects on. So, overall, I don’t know what’s going on and could use any and all help, thank you.

 

If someone’s already written a thread on this, I apologize in advance. This has frazzled me and I can’t really think clearly right now.

the PDF attached has images of what the problem is if the images do not load. 

you will notice that I make all these brush strokes with 100% opacity/flow on. I've noticed that bringing the flow down to 30% makes the brush look darker, until you make brush strokes and then it gets really weird (not displayed here - just what I've discovered so far).

found a solution. looks like wet edge was on and I think that was what was screwing me up
