GarryP Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 The "This application is licenced to" section on the left of the My Account dialog seems to take up a lot of space. If this information were to be moved to the mostly empty space at the top of the dialog then the “My add-ons” section could cover the whole width, and therefore show more items at once, rather than being ‘squashed up’ at the right. It’s not a massive problem, I’m just wondering why there’s so much ‘empty space’, especially when, as far as I know, an application can only be licenced to one person/organisation. Or is that space for future expansion of functionality, or something else? Quote
markw Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Hi Garry, it’s very small so you may have missed it but there is a small show/hide triangle just to the left of the Licensed To… info, click it and then the whole window shows your add-ons. walt.farrell Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Thanks, @markw. That's a beta change I hadn't noticed. But I'm not sure that accomplishes what @GarryP suggested. When I tried it it just enabled the add-ones to become wider, but it displays the same number of them. It might be nice if they kept their same width, but we got two columns. Then more would be visible on the screen at one time. markw Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Yes I should have said that triangle is only in the beta apps at the moment shouldn't I☺️! Yes, having two columns of stuff would be a good use of space. While we are here, have you also noticed in the betas that if you activate the search box in the add-ons window (via the hamburger menu) we also get some icons for filtering by category which is nice.🙂 Quote macOS 12.7.6 | 15" Macbook Pro, 2017 | 4 Core i7 3.1GHz CPU | Radeon Pro 555 2GB GPU + Integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 1.536GB | 16GB RAM | Wacom Intuos4 M
GarryP Posted March 28, 2023 Author Posted March 28, 2023 markw: I’m not engaged in the current beta testing so I didn’t know about the show/hide triangle but thanks for mentioning it. However, as Walt said above, it might be nice to have multiple columns (maybe a user-specified number) so we can see more add-ons at once. Like I said earlier though, it’s not a big deal. Quote
