Publisher 2.1.0.1732 crashes with tables

Recommended Posts

I have problem with simple file I made for my regular weekly report. it contains 4 master pages - 2 separate sections for cover and end page + 2 additional master pages (1 for linked photos + 1 for tables).

it looks like the tables make problem, as I'm not able to insert end page (using its master page) and save file. I was able to insert it, export file into PDF so I have finished my job, but the file is not stabil.

is there a secure way to post it somewhere for developers (1,1M) as I cannot edit it now and share it here, since it contains sensitive data ..

thanks

Chris,

I've uploaded file "problem to save.afpub" - try to create new page (1 page only) after last one based on Master D, then edit and save or just save. in my case, most time AP crashes immediately after new page is created

thanks

Hey jussi,

It looks like the issue is happening when there's a placed image on the master page. I noticed on Master D there's a layer called 'logo' if I remove this and Save As it's fine. If I restore it or add another image layer it will crash.

This is essentially an issue I found yesterday with adding embedded documents onto a master, applying to a page and saving. I worked with a developer who was unable to reproduce the crash on their debug build which contains a numeber of fixes so I'm really hoping this will be resolved in the next build.

I'll add your thread to the bug report so I can keep track and I'll re-test once I get the next update.

Hi jussi,

This is what I think happened:

In 1732 we logged the issue regarding an crash when saving a Publisher file that had an embedded afxxx file emebedded on the master page - this was fixed.

However, in 1736 we did not realise that placed bitmap files also crashed with the above recipe. The reoport was reopened and updated to reflect this new info so hopefully it will be fixed soon.

The issue "Crash on save with embedded document on Master Page" (REF: AFB-7558) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1742".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.

In attached example export to PDF OK till I add an email to third column of the yellow table

1.afpub 12.36 MB · 2 downloads

Have you tried it with 2.1.0.1781? I can export your file successfully.
