I've been noticing that some of my saved Affinity Photo V2 files are not being displayed in Windows 11 file explorer and more importantly not being displayed ACDsee. This did not happen with any files that were created with Affinity V1.  This does not happen with all AP files just some. In the example below, two files were created from the same photo and one of the AF files opens with both file explorer an ACDsee and the other does not. Furthermore, when I try to open the file from ACDSee it crashes Affinity. Three files are attached: 2 screenshots and the buggy .afphoto file that only display as a generic AF Photo icon in Explorer and no icon in ACDsee.

Hi @Pixel Pete welcome to the forums,

Your attached file shows the thumbnail as expected in file explorer on my Windows 11 desktop, if they're not showing in file explorer on your PC, I would recommend trying the .MSI/EXE version of the apps instead of the .MSIX if you havent already, I've linked the FAQ below which details how to install these, be sure to uninstall your current .MSIX version of Photo 2 first to avoid any app conflicts. Once you have got the .MSI installed, change your 'Opens With'/Default app to Affinity Photo 2 again on one of your files in explorer and see if it updates.

The file also loaded the thumbnail in ACDsee after installing the Studio Ultimate app, though from my experience it appeared to be completely random as to whether or not files are displaying a thumbnail within the app which wasn't just limited to V2, some legacy V1 files also wouldn't show a thumbnail until I saved it to a new .afphoto file.
