jackamus Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 How do I set a QS selection so that it remains selected whilst I move the Move tool to select a stroke thickness etc? GarryP Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 What is a “QS selection”, what do you mean by “remains selected”, and why are you “moving” the Move Tool to select a stroke thickness? What are you trying to do and what are you trying to do it to? Quote
jackamus Posted March 25, 2023 Author Posted March 25, 2023 I use the Move tool to select a QS from the QS list and drag thew shap I want, Then move the Move tool to the Stroke pallet to set a stroke thickness. Whilst I am doing that the QS selection bounding boc disappears and I have to re-select the QS again to set the stroke. It never used to do that. GarryP Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Thanks for the extra information. I think you might have “Select new object” turned OFF in the Context Toolbar. Quote
jackamus Posted March 25, 2023 Author Posted March 25, 2023 What does the icon look like? Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! PaulEC Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 It's a tick box, on the Context Toolbar that says "Select new object" next to it! jackamus Posted March 25, 2023 Author Posted March 25, 2023 Here's a screen shot showing the Context Toolbar. Where is the 'Select new object'? I generally select the appropriate Shape Tool (rectangle, ellipse, triangle, etc.) and use that Tool to draw a shape. The Move Tool isn't involved at all. What are you doing that involves the Move Tool? jackamus Posted March 25, 2023 Author Posted March 25, 2023 Sorry Walt, because I tend to always use the Move tool to move something and then when I want to drag a new QS, I assumed that I was using the Move tool to do the dragging but I can see that as soon as move the Move tool onto the QS menu it changes to whatever a QS tool is called. walt.farrell 1 Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! PaulEC Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 That would be it - you need to have the right Context Toolbar showing (i.e. for the Quick Shape Tool, not the Move Tool!)
