GordonWatt
Hi there. Looking at making the switch from Illustrator to AD. I'm a stained glass designer and one thing I'm struggling with is drawing a rectangular (or square) grid inside another rectangle (e.g. Using Illustrator's rectangular grid tool as per the attached image).I there an equivalent tool in AD, or a workaround using custom grids? Many thanks G
crabtrem
I would personally recommend using the Designer snapping options, combined with power duplicate to get some powerful results. Here is a short Affinity tutorial on some power duplicate capabilities. ober
R C-R
It won't actually draw anything but you might find the Grid & Axis manager useful to create snapping points for the glass pieces & maybe even for the framing that holds them in place. I attached a shot of this manager opened to the advanced mode so you can get some idea of its options. One of them is gutters, which unlike column gutters in page layout apps creates gutters around each grid square (or rectangle if not set to uniform spacing), which could be used to simulate the framing.
