Hello!

I know there already has been a topic in this forum about OCIO V2 Support, but I wanna bring this topic to life again! Could you please update to OCIO V2 - with the new AgX Color Management coming to Blender it will be necessary to have it! Is it really that difficult so you can't implement this within a month? Since 2 years people are begging for it!

Please let us at least know the reasons why it's not implemented yet and what are the plans for the future!?

Greetings,

Erwin

Hi @airwinkl,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

I'm moving this thread to the feedback section of our forums for our developers to see and consider implementing this in a future update.

Our team doesn't tend to provide any estimations or guarantees regarding new features until they have been implemented into a beta version, so I would be unable to provide any further clarification regarding OCIO V2 currently, my apologies.

There are many features that customers request to be added to the Affinity applications and we take each one of these into consideration, but with a small team size certain features can take longer than others.

Hi thanks for your answer!

so you didn't manage to implement this since over 2 years now? not even with affinity 2.0?

It's just really annoying, since it is a little feature, which is industry standard and it destroys whole workflows, which makes your software not useable for a lot of people.

Greetings

Affinity V2 implemented many new features, as does our upcoming update 2.1 - however unfortunately OCIO V2 was not yet one of these.

As above this is logged with our developers to be considered for a future update and I will be sure to add your 'vote' to this now.

Our apologies for any inconveniences caused by this in the meantime!

This is the only reason I haven't upgraded to V2.  While your at it, make it so only one ocio node is needed to bake down the color transform....and the current implementation in V1 is a little buggy.  When applying ocio nodes to large 32 bit EXRs it causes Photo to crash about 20% of the time.

And no DDS support?

Posted elsewhere but also wanted to add my request for OCIO v2 support. I would certainly upgrade if it was there, as would a great number of 3D users. Most of the programs now use OCIO v2. Affinity 1 supported OCIO v1 in a way that Photoshop did not, and was the key reason I bought it. Now my pipeline is broken using Blender.

Thank you

I'd also like to use Affinity Suite for my job but the lack of OCIO v2 prevents me to do so for most of my jobs. I'd be delighted if OCIO v2 was supported.

Thanks for considering the implementation of OCIO v2.

Hi - pleased to say we have now added OCIO v2 support in the latest beta (2.2). We'd really appreciate if you wanted to try it in the beta (sign up to beta program here), but if not this means it won't be too long before it's made available in the release version.
