Placing external images

Recommended Posts

Whenever I go to place an image from Files (IOS) it starts at a folder buried in my iCloud Drive that I have never used for Designer. I then have to traverse through files to find my image and when I go to place another image from files, I am back to this unrelated iCloud folder and have to navigate across folders again.

Is it supposed to remember what directory I was in so it can open files from there again? I know V1 did as this is killing my workflow with lots of external images stored on files.

I think this has been caused by an iPadOS change as for me V2 & V1 work similarly. In particular Apple have done something weird with recently used folders as shown here.

You may find it useful to join the beta program and see how the new place… command allows you to select all your images in one go like this.
