Hi,

I've an .afdesign file that is many artboards at 64px x 64px and when I try to export to .svg I get this popup...

It eventually causes AD 2.0.4 to just close. No crash report just disappears.

I tried disabling OpenCL to see if that would help.

Has anyone encountered this behaviour?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

I do not have an answer to your question/problem, but wanted to make a request: Please just paste your screenshot into your post, or drag/drop it in. There's no need to use an external site that then requires us to (a) click a link and (b) enable Javascript and (c) disable any ad blockers we have (or at least say we've done it), when the forum can display JPG and PNG images perfectly well by itself.

Thanks. :)

It could be caused by a lot of things. If you have used any effects on the vector work or if there are many Pixel based elements that are shrunk down or....

Could you try copying one of the artboards and making a new document from that and try exporting the new document. The settings for the export to SVG would be of assistance in finding out what is going wrong. A screenshot of the layers panel might also help troubleshoot.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hi Bruce, thank for reply.

No effects and no pixel based elements.

I tried that and the same issue arises.

All common artboards are in a group and each artboard icons are grouped and in the icon groups are curves.

I've been able to export each of your artboards using the standard SVG (For Export) Preset successfully without any delay both on my Mac and W11, if you don't have access to it already you could try the 2.1 beta app to see if this allows the export to go through on your device, i've linked the signup page below for more info.

If you're going to open any files in the 2.1 beta be sure to create a backup first, as once saved they can't be opened again in the release app again.

It seems like a step in the right direction if it's no longer freezing and crashing, could you confirm the following:

  • In 2.1 does this error occur no matter the location the SVG is exported to?
  • If you export to a brand new file instead of overwriting an existing one does it work?
  • If both of the above still don't work, could you confirm if exporting to PDF (For Export Preset) works or results in the same error message?

Thanks
