Miti Kovacs Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Hi all, I am a very beginner designer, so bare with me please :). I have purchased V2 after having V1 for a little while. I've noticed that I cannot use 'subtract' option at all. None of the Desings I am working on. Not sure it is because the type of the designs or because something is wrong? Maybe the way I want to finish the designs it is not the right way, however I have an object in black (a butterfly) with 'holes', which I'd like to fill in in some ways to be able to create 2 different screens for screen printing purposes. And I have thought that maybe subtracting a rectangular shape will help me, but I cannot find out as the option isn't available to me. Could you please advice? Thank you very much. I have attached a picture to see what I mean. Regards, Miti 2transfer1.pdf Quote
Alfred Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Welcome back to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Miti Kovacs Your file contains many unconnected curves, but you can only fill an area which is enclosed by a continuous (not necessarily closed) curve. You need to use the ‘Join’ command to connect adjacent curves until you have areas that can be filled. Once you’ve done that you can add the ‘Curve’ layers to create a ‘Curves’ layer which you should be able to subtract from a larger rectangle.
