When the Expand Stroke command is applied to a vector object that contains enclosed shapes, only the outermost stroke is expanded. The interior stroked lines disappear.

(Affinity Designer 2.0.4, macOS 13.2.1)

Something odd is going on here, as I'm able to draw out a rectangle, place 2 smaller rectangles in the middle of the shape, subtract them and then expand stroke and everything is fine.  If I draw a shape like yours with the Pencil Tool, subtract and then expand I get the same results as you.

I'll need to get this logged with the Developers, as this should work.

I just installed v2.1 and this bug still hasn't been fixed. This is a bit annoying for me as the expand stroke feature is something I have to use a lot.

What would I need to do in order to downgrade to an earlier version that supports this feature? (1.9 perhaps?)

Do you have a license for V1? If so, you can download it from your Mac App Store account if you purchased there, or from Serif at https://affinity.store/update/macos/designer/1 if you purchased it from them. But note that V1 cannot open files saved in V2.

If not, you can't.
