Lasso selection not working with duplicated shapes (iPad)

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this bug is logged already…I saw a similar post for Designer 2.0 for desktop, however, I’m only having this issue in the 2.1 beta for iPad (1730).

If I duplicate a shape, Designer does not correctly lasso select nodes, instead the selection is offset, or it won’t select anything at all (marquee works fine). If I separate then merge the curves, I can select the nodes accurately again. However, this option is not available for solid shapes. I’ve attached a screen recording below.

M2 iPad Pro 12.9”, 256GB, iPadOS 16.3.1

Note that it's not duplicated shapes, it's moved shapes. Draw a path with two nodes, move it, and then try to option+drag select the nodes. You need to drag around where the nodes originally were.

Or scaled, rotated, etc.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

The issue "Lasso node selection fails on duplicated shapes" (REF: AFD-6510) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1769".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
